Christine's Sweet Chocolate Pie

Ingredients:

4 oz. German's sweet chocolate
2 eggs
1/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 Tbs. cornstarch
1/8 tsp. salt
1 14.5-oz. can evaporated milk
1/8 tsp. vanilla
1 9-inch pie shell
1 1/3 cups flake coconut
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Prep time: 1 hour
Yield: 8 servings

Preheat oven to 375º.

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate and butter, stirring until blended. Remove from heat and stir in milk; set aside.

In a large bowl, combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla; mix thoroughly. Gradually blend in chocolate mixture. Pour into pie shell. Sprinkle coconut and pecans over the top.

Bake for 45 minutes until golden brown; cool.
