German Chocolate Cake Brownies

Ingredients:

1 4-oz. package sweet baking chocolate
1/4 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar, divided
2 eggs
1/2 cup flour
1 cup chopped pecans
1 1/3 cups flaked coconut
1/4 cup milk

Prep time: 1 hour
Yield: 9 servings

Preheat oven to 350º (325º for glass baking dish). Line an 8-inch square pan with foil; lightly grease foil and sides of pan.

Microwave chocolate and butter in a large bowl on HIGH for 1 1/2 minutes or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted.

Stir 1/2 cup of the brown sugar into chocolate until well blended. Mix in eggs. Stir in flour and 1/2 cup of the pecans until well blended. Spread in prepared pan.

Mix coconut, remaining 1/2 cup pecans, and remaining 1/4 cup brown sugar in same bowl. Stir in milk until well blended. Spoon evenly over brownie batter.

Bake 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out with fudgy crumbs. Do not overbake. Cool in pan. Cut into squares.

Serve with warm milk caramel.
