Joi's Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Ingredients:

3 lb. ground chuck
3 small onions, finely chopped
3 eggs
3 cups french bread crumbs
1 tsp. garlic salt
salt and pepper, to taste
1 16-oz. jar grape jelly
3 bottles Heinz chili sauce*

There is no substitute. Barbeque sauce works only in an emergency.

Prep time: 1 hour 30 minutes
Yield: 36 meatballs

Preheat oven to 350°.

Combine meat, onion, eggs, bread crumbs, garlic salt, salt and pepper. Roll mixture into balls.

Combine grape jelly and chili sauce.

Put meatballs in 9x13" pan and add sauce, stirring to coat meatballs completely. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes

Note: When planning to serve later in a chafing dish or crock pot, cook in oven for 45 minutes instead of an hour.
