Mom's Cornbread Dressing

Ingredients:

8 cups corn bread
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
1 tsp. sage
3 cups chicken broth
salt and pepper to taste
1/3 cup butter
1 cup milk

Prep time: 1 hour 15 minutes
Yield: 8 servings

Preheat oven to 350º.

Crumble corn bread in large bowl. Add onion, celery, and seasonings. Add hot broth to make soft mixture. Mix well. Add butter and milk. Mixture should be very soft to allow for loss of moisture during baking. Add more broth if necessary.

Pour into greased pan and bake at 350º for 1 hour or until well browned. For more flavor, bake in the same pan as the turkey.
