Heather's Strawberry-Stuffed French Toast

Ingredients:

1 loaf Hawaiian bread
1 package strawberry compote or pie filling
6 eggs
1/2 cup milk
2 dashes cinnamon, optional
powdered sugar

Prep time: 30 minutes
Yield: 4 servings

Warm strawberry compote in a bowl in the microwave. Cut bread into 2-inch slices. Slit the top of each slice (do not cut through). Spoon compote into the slits.

Combine eggs, milk, and cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Coat bread slices in egg mixture and brown on both sides in skillet. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
